The Scope
The Climate and Ecosystem Services program is responsible for the Ecosystem Services Procedure (ES PRO), which enables organizations to sponsor responsible forestry projects that make a real difference in the fight against climate change, biodiversity loss, and other global challenges. FSC is currently revising the ES PRO to expand the incorporation and recognition of cultural values and practices of Indigenous and Traditional Peoples, as well as create specific claims.
We are seeking an engaged Climate and Ecosystem Services Officer with solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission to collaborate with us in a multinational environment.

Main Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate a working group's discussion regarding the ongoing revision, including setting up meetings and following up on the progress.
- Facilitate meetings, including taking notes. Prepare PowerPoint presentations.
- Coordinate inputs for the revision process with technical consultants, FSC Indigenous Foundations, PIPC, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate the FSC public consultation processes, including the creation of prior reports and consultation material.
- Maintain a good understanding of developments on the international scene in the topic of Indigenous and Traditional Peoples.
- Coordinate pilots and field research.
Your profile
- Education and Training: Bachelor's and/or master's degree in forestry, environmental sciences, sustainability, anthropology, or a similar relevant topic.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in the field of indigenous and traditional peoples, project management, sustainability, and climate change.
- You are committed to FSC’s mission and values.
- You thrive working with people from all over the world and from all kinds of backgrounds.
- You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and are proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- You are fluent in English.
- You are a self-starter and curious person who is open to new challenges.
- You are well organized and can work with minimal supervision.

The Fine Print
- This is a temporary position to cover parental leave.
- Duration: 8 months.
- Working hours: full-time 40 hours per week.
- Start date: latest by September 2025.
- Location: Bonn or remote.
