NIB’s Middle Office unit is seeking a TRAINEE for an internship to join its international team in Helsinki for the period September 2025 - June 2026.  

The Middle Office Unit is responsible for providing analysis, reporting and technical support for the Treasury & Finance Department. The unit’s specific tasks include valuation of financial instruments, reporting and analysing the PnL changes, market data, and Treasury’s IT systems. The main responsibilities of the Trainee are participation in the unit’s reporting activities and the development of reports, controlling market data quality, processing of transactions in Treasury’s IT systems.  

The Trainee may also participate in ongoing projects related to systems and process improvements.  

Qualifications  

The successful candidate should have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field with ongoing Master’s studies 
  • Competence in databases, programming, and/or reporting tools (e.g. SQL, Python, PowerBI)
  • Basic knowledge of financial markets and instruments
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong command of English and good interpersonal skills 

Candidates with a knowledge of Nordic and Baltic languages are particularly encouraged to apply for this position.
