Minimum Qualifications:
  • Holds a recognized Midwifery Diploma/Certificate, is registered with the Ministry of Public Health, and has successfully passed the Exit Exam.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience as a midwife.
    Prior experience and training in sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) response and clinical care for sexual assault survivors is an advantage.
  • Experience working with and supporting community volunteers in health promotion, community mobilization, and awareness raising is desirable.
  • Ability to maintain regular inventory and consumption tracking of medical drugs and supplies.
  • Coordinate with relevant staff to ensure timely requests for medical supplies.
  • Technical competency and flexibility to understand and navigate cultural and political dynamics.
  • Skills to provide sensitive and appropriate medical counseling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports in English.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a                challenging environment, demonstrating patience, empathy, and diplomacy.
  • Must be willing and able to work night shifts as per the duty roster.
  • Must be capable of conducting outreach services at the community level, including health education and service delivery.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, when required.
  • Capacity to live and work in difficult and high-pressure conditions.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all patient consultations and records.
  • Submit timely and comprehensive reports as required.
  • Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari.
  • Proficiency in English is an advantage.
  • Basic computer literacy is an advantage.
  • Ability to work respectfully, professionally, and collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, or culture.
