In collaboration with UNICEF and the Ministry of Health, IRC Hellas, is implementing the research project “Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) of Adolescent Girls in Greece: Policy analysis, policy recommendations and formulation of investment case” supporting the ‘Health Promotion of Adolescent Girls through Menstruation Destigmatization’ project as one of the three key pillars of the ‘National Action for the Promotion of Family and Child Health in Greece 2023 – 2025.’ In the framework of this research, the IRC will be collecting and analyzing primary data to better understand adolescent girls’ experiences with respect to MHH; explore awareness and perceptions of adolescent boys, educators, parents, NGOs, and government representatives regarding MHH; identify effective, context-appropriate ways to promote MHH among adolescent girls, drawing on insights from all stakeholder groups; develop policy recommendations to key policy players in Greece; develop an investment case to demonstrate to both public and private sector actors the social and economic benefits of advancing menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) for adolescent girls.
IRC Hellas is looking for 3 Research Assistants to contribute to this research by analyzing data collected as part of IRC’s primary research on MHH of adolescent girls in Greece. The main objective of the Research Assistant is to support the collection of   all primary data through FGDs and Key Informant Interviews about menstrual health. The Research Assistant will need to observe the FGDs, noting key themes, opinions, and non-verbal cues, to have a better understanding of the topics discussed. 
Key Responsibilities
•Serve as a Research Assistant for the primary data collection; 
•Participate in an online training;
•Familiarize him/herself with the discussion guide, ensuring the project objectives are understood and discussions are guided effectively;
•Support the write up of notes and primary data collection;
•Provide feedback on the effectiveness of the discussion guide or the overall process;
•Collaborate closely with the Team Leader of the project in order to carry out her duties.
Requirements
•Proven experience in data collection or fieldwork, preferably as a research assistant, enumerator or similar role;
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations;
•Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills;
•Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines;
•Strong familiarity with the sociocultural context of Greece;
•Willingness to travel to various locations as required;
•Fluency in Greek and English;
•Team player, responsive, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross- cultural setting;
•Attention to detail and ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment;
•Previous experience with the IRC and/or UNICEF will be positively evaluated.
Work Environment
•Availability to work between August 1st  -August 30th, 2025 (with some flexibility depending on clearance and approvals for carrying out FGDs and KIIs);
•Location: based in Athens, with travel all over Greece;
