In collaboration with UNICEF and the Ministry of Health, IRC Hellas, is supporting the ‘Health Promotion of Adolescent Girls through Menstruation Destigmatization’ project as one of the three key pillars of the ‘National Action for the Promotion of Family and Child Health in Greece 2023 – 2025.’ The IRC will be conducting a comprehensive analysis of the policy, legislation and institutional landscape of adolescent menstrual hygiene and health in order to develop an investment case and policy recommendations.
The IRC Hellas is looking for a Researcher to lead mixed methods research to analyze the country landscape related to MHH of Adolescent Girls and develop a policy analysis report by outlining the findings in policy/legal/institutional landscapes, key recommendations for upholding the MHH rights of Adolescent Girls in Greece by improving these landscapes, best practices identified regionally/globally, and the costing of the policy recommendations. This role will be closely collaborate with the main Researcher and the Team Leader of the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as investigator of this research study;
• Conduct primary research using quantitative and qualitative methods (online focus group discussions, key informant interviews, etc.);
• Conduct all data analysis, cleaning and synthesis related to the project, with a focus on qualitative data analysis;
• Draft and finalize research reports and executive summaries, including key findings, recommendations and a national investment case for adolescent MHM in Greece;
• Participate as a key speaker in the policy roundtable to present the findings and exchange lessons learnt and best practices;
REQUIREMENTS
• A PhD candidate or a PhD graduate in Public Policy, Governance, Law, Social Sciences, Public Health, Research and Evaluation, or a related field or/and relevant work experience;
• Proven experience in participating in qualitative and quantitative research studies and experience in one or more of the following areas of expertise will be considered an asset: Research & Evaluation, Law, Public Policy, Behavioral Science, Mental Health, Public Health, and Education;
• Strong familiarity with the sociocultural context of Greece;
• Strong command of qualitative research and data analysis;
• Previous experience working in adolescent health;
• Fluency in Greek and English;
• Team player, responsive, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross- cultural setting;
• Strong sense of personal integrity;
• Strong negotiation and coordination skills. Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people;
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment;
• Computer skills: Knowledge of MS Office, Internet, Outlook and competency with new technologies;
• Previous experience with the IRC and UNICEF will be positively evaluated;
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Working hours: Standard working hours (9:00 – 17:00), with flexibility.
