SCOPE OF INTERN WORK: This internship is an excellent opportunity for a current graduate/undergraduate student to gain exposure to the operations of a large international organization while applying Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) concepts, processes, and tools to measure the project's success in a practical way.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the MEAL Manager in the data cleaning process within the Efforts to Outcome database, including identifying and removing duplicate entries and updating missing demographic information to ensure accuracy and reliability.

  • Collaborate with the MEAL Manager and Program team by participating in grant meetings to gain insight into MEAL-related activities and support the development of MEAL plans tailored to program needs.

  • Partner with the MEAL Manager and contribute to the design of training materials related to Monitoring and Evaluation concepts/tools/ processes for the Monthly MEAL Steering Committee meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 

  1. Students will gain experience in planning and executing MEAL activities,which are critical for project success;

  1. Students will gain an understanding of the Efforts to Outcomes(ETO)database; and 

  1. Students will develop an in-depth understanding of IRC Resettlement, Asylum, & Integration programming.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Currently enrolled graduate student or undergraduate student in a related field of InternationalRelations/Development, Social Work, Global Human Resources, Learning and Development, Non-Profit Management, International Business,or related field;

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively;

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);

  • Willingness to work on different types of tasks and projects;

  • English fluency required; and

  • Experience with Power BI and other MEAL-related software is a plus.

This position reports to the MEAL Manager

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship opportunity. 

Working Environment:  

  • The  Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Internship is fully remote. 
  • San Diego Office hours are scheduled Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm PST. Selected interns can choose their hours based on this window of availability
