Mission and objectives

Context

The UNDP Gabon office recently received a request from the Government to implement the PUDC (Programme d'Urgence de Développement Communautaire), under the direct execution modality, which will cover all of the country's territories. In its National Transition Development Plan (PNDT), this program constitutes a central framework for government action over the 2024-2026 period. The PUDC's overall objective is to correct the disparities in sustainable human development between urban and rural areas, and to transform people's living conditions by significantly improving the supply of basic socio-economic services in all of Gabon's rural territories. In the context of promoting the development of rural and local economies, the program aims to: (i) promote rural entrepreneurship, (ii) boost agricultural productivity, (iii) add value to agricultural production, (iv) improve rural entrepreneurs' access to financial services, (v) improve infrastructure and much more.
