In the Middle East Region, Malteser International (MI) is operating in the context of the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2012 implementing emergency relief measures in Türkiye, Syria, and Lebanon and since 2014 in Iraq. Since 2024 MI is supporting the affected population in Gaza through our local Partner in food assistance and in the health sector.

To support the establishment of a medical point in Gaza city, Malteser International is looking for a qualified Pediatrician.

As a Pediatrician, you will be part of a dedicated team launching a new primary healthcare center in Gaza. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high-need area while contributing to life-saving health services under Malteser International’s humanitarian mission.

Your responsibilities:

  • Conduct pediatric consultations including physical exams, developmental assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals for infants, children, and adolescents
  • Provide preventive care by administering vaccines, ensuring immunization schedules are followed, and raising awareness about hygiene and nutrition
  • Manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions, such as infections, asthma, diabetes, seizures, congenital disorders, and minor injuries
  • Identify and monitor developmental or behavioral issues, offering early interventions and family guidance
  • Deliver emergency care including Basic Life Support (BLS), and stabilize cases before referral when necessary
  • Maintain accurate patient records, track daily data, submit reports, and ensure adherence to rational drug use protocols
  • Collaborate with clinic staff in training, operational support, and service coordination while adhering to ethical and humanitarian principles

Your profile:

  • Degree in medicine and general surgery
  • Valid medical license from the Ministry of Health
  • Board-certified in Pediatrics with at least 5 years of clinical experience
  • Skilled in newborn, child, and adolescent care across a range of acute and chronic conditions
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills, including emergency pediatric care and vaccination
  • Effective communicator with the ability to counsel families and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient in Arabic and English, both written and verbal

  • Duration of contract: until 31.12.2025 (with possibility of extension upon further project funding) 
  • Salary: Based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with MI’s salary scale
