Mission and objectives

With its establishment on 7 April 1948, WHO works worldwide to promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable. WHO’s goal is to ensure that a billion more people have universal health coverage, to protect a billion more people from health emergencies, and provide a further billion people with better health and well-being.

Context

The assignment of a Knowledge Management and Reporting Officer under the Fully Funded UNV modality, generously supported by the Government of the Republic of Korea, comes at a critical time for WHO Türkiye. With multiple ongoing programmes—from digital health transformation and health emergency response to climate and migration-related health interventions—the Country Office is managing a growing body of technical knowledge, external partnerships, and donor engagements.

The UN Youth Volunteer will play a vital supporting role in organizing and synthesizing internal knowledge, contributing to strategic communications, and supporting external visibility efforts. This includes assisting in the development of public materials, documentation of events and success stories, preparation of donor briefs and partner updates, and mapping of stakeholders. The assignment also offers opportunities to engage in cross-cutting UN coordination and outreach initiatives.

This position provides a unique platform for a young professional to contribute meaningfully to global health, while gaining valuable experience in the international development system. The engagement also reflects the shared commitment of WHO and the Government of Korea to youth leadership, knowledge exchange, and fostering a culture of innovation and cooperation in international service.
