Mission and objectives

The UN Development Coordination Office (UN DCO) is the UN Office at the forefront of coordinating a collaborative contribution to the UN development system, towards its achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Context

The role will contribute to DCO LAC’s efforts to strengthen engagement with international financial institutions (IFIs), private sector actors, philanthropic institutions, and regional political blocs (e.g., CARICOM, CELAC, EU-LAC).

Task description

Under the leadership of the Senior Regional Coordination Officer and Team Leader, and in close coordination with the Regional Partnerships Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Support DCO LACs' work as a co-chair of the RCPs Regional Communications and Partnerships Working Group.

Support the implementation of the Workplan of the DCO LAC Functional RCOs Partnerships Network

Conduct stakeholder mapping and develop a regional partnerships database.

Support the drafting of partnership proposals, donor profiles, and talking points for senior leadership.

Support the coordination of engagement with IFIs, the EU, and the private sector in alignment with the EU-LAC Global Gateway and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) financing frameworks.

Monitor relevant regional trends, donor funding opportunities, and Team Europe Initiatives.

Support the organisation of partnership dialogues, briefings, and knowledge-sharing events across the region.

Contribute to the development of the DCO LAC resource mobilisation strategy and country-level joint resource mobilisation support for UNCTs.

Draft inputs for reports, presentations, and analytical products to highlight DCO’s regional convening efforts.
