The Civil Engineers will be required to provide technical support to the State Offices in Kassala, Gadaref, River Nile and Red Sea in the production of BOQs, Drawings, Design and detailed specifications as and when required by the project as well as supervision and quality control and compliance of civil works
Produce the Technical Design/BOQs/Drawings/Engineering estimate will involve comprehensive analysis and design of infrastructure components of the projects. During the production of the technical design the main goal will be to ensure structural integrity, functionality, and compliance with regulatory engineering approved standards while incorporating innovative and sustainable design solutions. This comprehensive approach to quality management will be crucial during the designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in achieving successful outcomes and establishing a reputation for excellence in the construction industry.
Participate in the supervision process and conduct detailed technical evaluation of civil work ensuring quality control as per the required standards of Social and Environmental Safeguards.
Ensure that, the technical design and implementation must incorporate an Occupational Health and Safety Plan (OSH), a Social Environmental Screening Procedure (SESP), and ensure that all Bill of Quantities (BoQ) requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety standards, are included. Additionally, supervision of the adherence to the supplier's code of conduct, which integrates Social and Environmental Standards (SES) requirements, is essential. The Civil Engineer should assure that they prepare & review all documents and orient contract service providers (potential and awardee) on Scope of Work (SOW), SES and construction design standards.
Civil Engineer will be responsible for quality control and independent verification of civil works documents including specifications/Scope of work, Drawings, Design and Bill of Quantities.

• Conduct detailed technical and feasibility of proposed civil work under projects in the designated state
• Independently review and quality control all the documents pertaining to civil works including approximate timelines for the intended timeframe for the civil works, and provide input in improvement of the document, as applicable.
• Bills of Quantities: produce BOQs items and ensure that the specifications are clear in all respect and have proper specifications of material and labour with international civil works standards.
• Provide input on the allocated resources and provide further input, if required.
• Produce Designs and Drawings: ensure that it correspond with the given specifications in the Bill of Quantities (BoQ), quality control and verify if it includes all the requirements for implementation of the project and provide improvement, as applicable.
• Prepare/ develop technical specifications of the utilized construction and non-constriction material of the project and make corrective measures.
• Provide guidance to the project team on necessary adjustments or modifications if needed under evaluation/review process with the evolving regulations.
• Conduct Unit Rate analysis comparing the internal estimate and rates offered by the recommended bidder focusing and ensuring value for money.
• Provide detailed analysis of the received bids/quotations and provide recommendation/s.
• Engage community mobilizers, community leaders and key stakeholders in joint monitoring of civil and non-civil work
• Engage community in ensuring the Feedback and Compliant Mechanism for all civil and non-civil work through community mobilizers.
