OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The WHO Department for UHC/Development of Health System advances progress towards attaining UHC through strengthening health systems to provide emergency care and rehabilitation services; and enhancing the quality of life for people with disability. To do so it uses advocacy, data collection, trend monitoring, evaluation and dissemination of best practices in prevention and policy. Within WHO's Emergency, Trauma and Acute Care programme is dedicated to strengthening the emergency care systems that serve as the first point of contact with the health system to supporting the development of quality, timely emergency care accessible to all.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1.Provide support to the ministry of health and partners to implement WHO emergency and trauma careresources.
2.Contribute to the preparation of monitoring and progress reports, briefings, proposals, reports and communications required for strategic decision making.
3.Manage and analyze data from different sources to improve Trauma and Emergency Care.
4.Support building the capacities of health workers in trauma and emergency care.
5. Attend various project management meetings, coordinate relevant activities, ensure predictable follow-up on agreed action points with relevant stakeholders.
6. Assist in assessing the technical need of the teamin a participatory manner. Follow up on action points in a timely manner,ensure that the projects are regularly monitored and reported on. Provide relevantinformation and consolidated feedback to the team members.
7. Assist in coordinating and facilitating improved information and knowledge management within the team for the purpose of monitoring and evaluation, organizational learning and reporting, with aparticular responsibility for maintaining and improving the activities databases.
8. Participate in the administrative and logistical arrangement of meetings and other events.
9. Undertake duty travel to emergency locations to support project management, when necessary.
10. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: First level University degree in medicine,health Sciences or relatedfield from an accredited academic institution.
Desirable: Masters' degree in PublicHealth or emergency care is an asset.
Experience
Essential: At least two years of relevant experience in public health that includeone yearexperience in implementing Trauma and Emergency Care interventions.
Desirable: Relevant experience in WHO/UN or other INGO. Related experience in the context of outbreaksand/or emergency programmes
Skills
Demonstrated skills in thedevelopment of reports and persuasive documents.Demonstrated organizational skills,high ability to organize logisticsfor events or conferences; Strong analytical skills and ability to analyse and synthesizeinformation from multiple sources and conduct independent research;

REMUNERATION
Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 51,553 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
