1. Background
Due to the growing of Pakse Field Office which many staff are required for not only programme but also admin units. Given that, there is a need for effective and timely supporting the field office team when it comes to addressing information technology matters such as IT operations and maintenance, providing daily user support as well as training if needed.
2. Purpose of the Assignment
The primary purpose of this assignment is to provide technical support and assistance in the organization’s IT operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of IT systems and infrastructure.
3. Objectives
To support daily IT operations and maintenance
To assist in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software
To ensure data security and backup procedures are followed
To provide user support and training as needed
To assist in the documentation of IT systems and procedures
4. Scope of Work
The IT Assistant will be responsible for:
Providing technical support to staff and users
Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware (computers, printers, network devices)
Installing and updating software applications
Managing network connectivity and troubleshooting network issues
Performing backups and ensuring data security
Maintaining inventory of IT equipment and software licenses
Assisting in the setup of new IT infrastructure
Documenting procedures, configurations, and issues
5. Deliverables
Weekly reports on support activities and issues resolved
Inventory list of IT equipment and software
Documentation of IT procedures and configurations
Ad hoc reports as required
6. Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Proven experience in IT support or similar role
Knowledge of networking, hardware, and software troubleshooting
Familiarity with data security protocols
Good communication skills
7. Reporting Line
The IT Assistant will report to head of field office and IT officer as a technical level and collaborate with other staff as necessary.
8. Confidentiality
The IT Assistant shall maintain confidentiality regarding all organizational data and information accessed in the course of work.
