Organizational Setting
The Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications implements the IAEA's Major Programme 2, "Nuclear Techniques for Development and Environmental Protection". This Major Programme comprises individual programmes on food and agriculture, human health, water resources, environment and radiation technologies. These programmes are supported by laboratories in Seibersdorf, Monaco and Vienna. The Major Programme's objective is to enhance the capacity of Member States to meet basic human needs and to assess and manage the marine and terrestrial environments through the use of nuclear and isotopic techniques in sustainable development programmes.
Main Purpose
The main purpose of the consultancy is to provide technical expertise to Member States through Technical Cooperation projects (TCPs) for the validation and implementation of a Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) based integrated pest management scheme. The consultancy will address the high demand to provide field support in the area of plant pests The consultancy will also address the recent re-introduction of the New World Screwworm (NWS) in Central America and Mexico which poses a risk for other Member States, The technology is transferred through designing and planning of TCPs, expert missions, training, provision of specific materials and equipment and through project oversight. The consultancy will also include support to the IAEA flagship initiative "Atoms4Food", including the preparation of the project proposals, implementation of the approved project and reporting of results.

Qualifications and Experience
Remuneration The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of ⬠350, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
