The Field Based Supply Consultant will be part of the Field Supply Support Unit (FSSU). They reside under the Head of Operational Logistics and Field Supply Chain Management and report directly to the Coordinator of Field Supply Chain Management. They cooperate closely with the members of the Field Support Unit (Operational Logistics, other Supply Chain Advisors, Flying Specialists), the Amsterdam Procurement Unit, other support departments, and Logistics Coordinators in the field.
Field Logistics Advisor (Supply)

Main objectives
Initiate, develop, evaluate and support the implementation in OCA country programmes of policies and procedures related to supply management and to provide expert advice and support to Operations, colleagues in the logistics department and the field staff on supply chain management issues.
Main responsibilities
Promotes best practices in demand management, ordering, warehouse management, distribution and local GDP compliance; Initiates, develops and maintains an integral and coherent policy in these areas, and develops procedures, guidelines, protocols, tools etc. to support it.
Provides expert advice with regards to the management of supply chain in the field, with a focus on demand planning, ordering, warehouse management, distribution and GDP compliance in the contexts where the field staff of the organization is working.
Supports the Field Supply Chain Management Coordinator in the planning, evaluation and training of the 6 flying supply specialists, whose role is to support the implementation of the guidance and good practice of supply management in the field.
Project manage a portfolio of improvements contributing to the optimization of country programme supply chains.
Assists HRM in the maintenance of the pool of specialised supply chain management staff.
Becomes available for (short) field deployment on technical and/or emergency assignments.
Candidate Profile
Masters level or equivalent in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or other related expertise
Required: a minimum of 5 years of experience working with MSF in supply chain roles. Experience as a coordinator or a senior managerial function is an asset. Experience with other NGOs in a similar setting will also be considered.
Experience in procurement in MSF countries of operation, including data analysis, sourcing, negotiation and contracting
Experience with freight forwarding, customs clearance, and importation is an asset
Experience in project management is an asset
Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken) are essential. French is highly valued.
High level of computer literacy, including experience with MS Office, Power BI, and ERPs
Willing to travel at least one time a year for field visits.

A full-time appointment (based on a 40-hours workweek), this is a temporary contract until October 1, 2026.
A gross monthly salary in scale 16 with a current salary range between € 4,269-5,877 gross per month. The exact salary depends on relevant work experience.
