Background:

Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) is a critical component of WFP efforts to assess the effectiveness and impact of its assistance programs, particularly in humanitarian contexts. By systematically collecting data from beneficiaries after the distribution of cash or food aid, PDM evaluates how well these interventions meet the needs of vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of World Food Programme’s (WFP) Monitoring and Evaluation Associate, the enumerator will assist in data collection for the 2025 annual post distribution monitoring. This will involve conducting remote interviews with Afghan refugees who reside inside settlements.

Specific responsibilities include:

Actively participate in three-day refresher training sessions prior to commencement of data collection exercise. Conduct phone interviews with head of households in selected settlements to accurately complete household-level questionnaires on tablets, ensuring all assigned interviews are completed daily.  Attend a one-day data cleaning/debriefing meeting after data collection period. Participate in a one-day conclusion and lessons learned meeting upon completion of data collection activities. Complete all mandatory WFP trainings, such as BSAFE (Basic Security in the Field), in a timely manner. Perform other related duties as required.

Functional Competencies:

Candidates should demonstrate the following:

Displays a basic understanding of WFP’s objectives and policies to effectively perform duties; Possess prior experience in quantitative data collection; General knowledge of WFP’s beneficiaries, coupled with a strong commitment to valuing diversity and utilizing respectful and inclusive language; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Familiarity with and proficiency in using on-line data collection tools;

Behavioral Competencies:

Candidates should possess the following personal attributes:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with beneficiaries and as part of a team.

  • Upholds WFP and its counterparts’ values, principles and standards;

  • Demonstrate ability to work under pressure such as working long hours.

  • Excellent organizational skills including proficiency in using computers and tablets for data entry.

  • Adherence to WFP Protection of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) regulations.

Recruitment Qualification:

Education:

  • A diploma, university student or graduate in social sciences, data and statistics, planning, development, and another field relevant to this role is required.

Language Requirement:

  • Fluency in English and Persian is essential.

Experience:

  • A minimum 2 years’ experience in data collection is desirable.
