Unit Context 

The ITS Country Engagement unit (ITSCE) delivers digital support for global and country-specific products, supports systems aligned with the new Country Engagement model, and provides geospatial solutions for geo-tagging of projects to improve spatial visibility and impact tracking. It also drives the delivery of AI-powered business solutions to support business priorities and accelerate data-driven decision-making across the institution. 
 
ITSCE is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Lead to support the delivery of the unit’s capital work program on technology solutions tailored to regional and country operations to ensure technological support for regional and country-level strategies. 

Specific Responsibilities 

- Lead the technical delivery of the following capital assets in the Global and Country Products product line: Country Workspace, Mission Management, Third-Party monitoring, Field data collection, CPF modernization, CPIA modernization.   

- Plan the strategic technology advisory to business units, supporting the adoption of new business models and Digital Public Goods. 

- Serve as the primary technical authority, make critical architectural decisions and guide the technical direction of projects and products. 

- Design and review system architecture, establish coding standards and best practices, and mentor junior and mid-level developers.  

- Evaluate new technologies, conduct technical risk assessments, and ensure code quality through reviews and technical oversight. 

- Break down complex technical requirements into actionable tasks, collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions, and lead technical discussions and decision-making processes.  

- Serve as the escalation point for challenging technical problems and provide guidance on performance optimization and scalability considerations. 

- Design and delivery of technology solutions tailored to regional and country operations to ensure technological support for regional and country-level strategies, including the rapid development and deployment of AI-powered business applications.
