Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of the Trade Facilitation Section, Trade Logistics Branch, Division on Technology and Logistics, the consultant will undertake the following activities, in the scope of two different projects: 1) Accelerate Trade Facilitation Programme: 1.1) Assist Egypt in the process of mapping and simplifying trade procedures by: • Research import, export and transit related laws and regulations in Egypt to identify those that are relevant for the selected products mapped in the trade portal • Analyze the information uploaded in the trade information mapped into the Trade Information Portal system of Egypt, in order to identify bottlenecks and propose potential simplifications • Program of the Arabic-language e-learning course on Simplification of Trade Procedures within the UNCTAD e-learning platform. (uploading videos, creating learning units, programming quizzes, exams, final assignments, translating and programming final evaluation survey into Arabic) • Provide training to Egypt stakeholders on the methodology of mapping procedures and the results of the conducted research 1.2) Assist the Secretariats of National Trade Facilitation Committees of beneficiary countries of the Accelerate Trade Facilitation Programme (approx 20 countries) in drafting a communication strategy and communication plan for trade facilitation reforms by: • Deliver, together with other colleagues of the Section, the e-learning course on Communication for National Trade Facilitation Committees (NTFCs) - Research on best practices in communication for National Trade Facilitation Committees - Program the content of the course modules on the UNCTAD’ s Trade Facilitation e-learning platform (uploading videos, creating learning units, programmings quizzes, exams, final assignments, translate and programme final evaluation survey) - Conduct Customer relationship duties related to UNCTAD Trade Facilitation E-learning platform for the course (enroll participants into the courses, using the selected Learning Managing System (LMS) Learnworlds) - Program the registration of participants in Indico and manage the approval of the registrations - Organize the logistics regarding the virtual webinars (preparing web announcements, preparing presentations, following up on students' progress) • Writing report summarizing inputs from final assignments and gathering data for the different KPIs, data visualization - Compress, cut and upload webinar recordings into the e-learning platform - Manage students' registrations, grading, and follow-up inside the platform - Propose actions to ensure an increase in students' participation within the platform - Draft and create promotional materials (social media cards, speaker’s bio, speakers quote cards, promotional video, newsletter announcements) - Liaise with UNCTAD Communication team to ensure the distribution of those materials • Organize the side events related to the Accelerate Trade Facilitation Programme organized during the during the Global Supply Chain Forum in Saudi Arabia (liaise with partners, speakers, participants national counterparts, venue staff, contractors, and other stakeholders, including answering queries, in English, French, Spanish or Arabic as required) 2) Delivery of the online course "The use of blockchain in trade facilitation in Arabic": • Program the content of the Arabic course on the UNCTAD’ s Trade Facilitation e-learning platform (uploading videos, creating learning units, programmings quizzes, exams, final assignments, translate and programme final evaluation survey into Arabic) • Conduct Customer relationship duties related to UNCTAD Trade Facilitation E-learning platform for the course (enroll participants into the courses, using the selected Learning Managing System (LMS) Learnworlds) • Program the registration of participants in Indico and manage the approval of the registrations • Organize the logistics regarding the virtual webinars (preparing web announcements, preparing presentations, following up on students' progress) • Writing report summarizing inputs from final assignments and gathering data for the different KPIs, data visualization • Compress, cut and upload webinar recordings into the e-learning platform • Manage students' registrations, grading, and follow-up inside the platform • Propose actions to ensure an increase in students' participation within the platform • Draft and create promotional materials (social media cards, speaker’s bio, speakers quote cards, promotional video, newsletter announcements) • Liaise with UNCTAD Communication team to ensure the distribution of those materials
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree, Master, in trade related issues, design, communications, business administration, or related area, is required. At least 2 years of relevant work experience in capacity building, communication, organizing webinars, workshops, or similar event, is required. Work experience using the Learnworlds learning management system is required. Knowledge of trade facilitation field is required. Specific proven experience using the Trade Information Portal system of UNCTAD is required.
Languages
Fluency written and oral in Arabic, French and English is required. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
