The role is critical in capturing lessons learned, promoting adaptive learning, and strengthening institutional memory to enhance the impact and sustainability of the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of the WFP knowledge management strategy
2. Ensure the update and implementation of the KM work-plans, in close collaboration with the communications, programme focal points and relevant colleagues in WFP and the government.
3. Design and implementation of learning activities related to programmatic areas, such as high level webinars, liaising with programme Staffing Coordination Office (SCO) to ensure that latest programmatic knowledge is adequately and timely integrated in to CO training portfolio, strengthened coordination and development of joint learning activities with relevant CO stakeholders
4. Advice and support the development of functional training in areas of expertise to enhance the capacity of Project staff, WFP staff and partner to effectively deliver KM activities.
5. Design and integration into the updated knowledge management strategy, of activities in support of external engagement, technical assistance to the government, and increased partnerships with local and national level stakeholders (NGOs, institutions, academia, etc.);
6. Oversee the mapping of all content relevant to Adaptation Fund, WFP, Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MEF), Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition (MAFSN) and other internal platforms as relevant, with the aim to identify content to be deleted, gaps to be filled and re-tagging the documents as per updated corporate taxonomy.
7. In collaboration with communications, oversee the divisional newsletters, regular, consistent and harmonized update of MEF, MAFSN WFP, pages and platforms, the coordination of related content update on the corporate website and the management of internal platforms for coordination of programmatic issues;
8. Support the consolidation of project documentation, including newsletters, success stories, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Diploma in Information Management, Communications, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Knowledge Management, or Organizational Learning,
Experience: A minimum of six years of professional experience in the knowledge management field, preferably within government institutions and donor-funded projects.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders;
- Willingness to build capacity of others through formal and informal training processes;
- Ability to facilitate and train different audiences; ability to prepare relevant documentation and training materials;
- Ability to meet agreed deadlines;
- Ability to write and disseminate reports in social media plartfoms, websites for the government, donors e.t.c
