Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position of Associate Communications Officer is assigned to the Media Relations Division (DCMD) within the Department of Communications and Knowledge Management (DOCK).

The position will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines. You will report to the designated International Staff and/or Officer (as applicable).

Your Role

As an Associate Communications Officer, you will support the provision of knowledge advisory services and capacity building on communications and knowledge management, primarily for internal clients.

You will:

  • Help design and deliver knowledge advisory services (e.g., support country knowledge plans, case study development) for key client groups.
  • Support the implementation of knowledge management strategies and plans.
  • Support the design and implementation of communications and knowledge management capacity building programs.
  • Contribute to the identification of communications and knowledge management training needs across the bank.
  • Contribute to the development and administration of training (e.g., introductory communications and knowledge management training during onboarding, media training for senior leadership).
  • Assist in housing, curating, and updating media talking points for ADB.
  • Coordinate DOCK-led capacity-building technical assistance.
  • Perform other related tasks that may be assigned by the supervising Technical International Staff and reflected in the workplan.

Qualifications

You will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in innovation management, knowledge management, social sciences, business administration, public administration or related fields; preferably with advanced training
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in knowledge management and capacity building tools and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse partners.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English.
  • Work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

Additional Information

This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staff's particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staff's performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
