Job Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager of Stakeholder Engagement, the Senior Assistant for Stakeholder Engagement (Photography and Videography) will capture digital photographs and support video documentation for general use in the production of IRRI articles, social media materials, campaigns, and website content. This role will develop and implement an IRRI strategic imagery plan, evaluate training needs, manage photo storage, and support video production activities with a specific focus on stakeholder engagement.

This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide photographic services and support videography services for IRRI engagements, lab or field shoots, portraits, and other related activities.
  • Plan and execute photo shoots to capture high-quality images that meet stakeholder engagement goals.
  • Process and edit images, conducting quality control to ensure that all content aligns with IRRI’s visual standards.
  • Organize, catalog, and distribute photos and videos to ensure easy access and storage for internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement an IRRI strategic imagery plan to align with stakeholder engagement objectives, ensuring the imagery meets both current needs and addresses emerging opportunities.
  • Maintain and ensure the optimal performance of all photo and video equipment and accessories
  • Support the photo and video needs of the Strategic and Science Communication pillar and the Media, Campaigns & Branding sub-pillar.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate photography needs and services, providing clear communication regarding timelines, access requirements, and content expectations.
  • Establish an organized photo shoot request system that internal clients must follow to streamline the photography and video services.
  • Evaluate photography and videography training needs across IRRI and deliver relevant training to enhance internal stakeholders' skills in content creation.
  • Perform the curation, organization, and improvement of IRRI’s photo banks and online tools, such as Flickr, ensuring that images are easily accessible for future use.
  • Carry out post-production work, including photo and video color correction, splicing, and editing rough drafts to meet specific project needs.
  • Ensure that all photography and videography content respects cultural, gender, and legal sensitivities, adhering to relevant laws and ethical standards.
  • Coordinate and implement photography and videography needs across all IRRI offices, ensuring that stakeholder requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Independently plan, budget, and organize photo and video shoots for internal clients with minimal supervision, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to meet team or client requests, adjusting plans as necessary to accommodate evolving needs.
  • Must exercise flexibility to respond appropriately to team or client requests
  • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communication, Fine Arts (Film, Visual Communication, Photography, Interactive Digital Media
Skills Required

Mandatory

  • Advanced technical knowledge of Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop or any other photo editing/manipulation software.
  • Knowledgeable in Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing

Preferred

  • Advanced understanding of interactive media and new digital channels
