Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Operations Coordination Specialist is assigned to the Office of the Director General (OPSD) within the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.
You will support the Senior Management Team (SMT) of PSOD and will oversee junior team members.
Your Role
As Operations Coordination Specialist, you will provide strategic support to the Director General and the Senior Management Team (SMT), offering high-level guidance on decisions that shape PSOD's long-term success. You will lead cross-departmental collaboration on strategic initiatives, implement PSOD's vision through efficient operational management, and oversee reporting and data management to allow informed decision-making and lead organizational effectiveness.
You will:
a. Strategic Planning
- Develop business strategies according to PSOD and ADB goals.
- Provide guidance and direction to the SMT to translate strategic goals into action plans.
- Lead the implementation of strategic plans to achieve business growth and increase market share.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of market trends, competitive landscape, and industry dynamics to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
b. Decision Support
- Review non-transactional documents for SMT approval and provide summaries to help SMT decision-making.
- Conduct analysis on business issues, market trends, and industry developments to support the SMT in making informed decisions.
- Provide data-driven recommendations based on insights.
c. Operations Management:
- Work with the data team to ensure performance metrics and key performance indicators evaluate PSOD's operational performance.
- Work with teams to ensure that change management projects foster a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
- Provide guidance to administrative teams on workflows and processes.
d. Organizational Culture Support
- Provide support and feedback to teams to enhance performance.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes innovation, knowledge sharing, cross-functional collaboration, and engagement.
e. Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
- Achieve business growth through marketing strategies, product development, and customer relationship management.
- Remain up to date with market trends and competitors' activities.
f. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop relationships with important partners including senior executives, board members, government officials, and business partners.
- Represent PSOD at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Oversee the development of a comprehensive communications strategy that is aligned with ADB/PSOD's goals, to increase awareness of private sector operations, activities, and knowledge products.
- Provide communications advice on critical messages for internal and external audience, including press releases, social media content, inter-departmental policy transformation and policy reform plans.
Qualifications
You will need:
- A University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related fields; preferably at post-graduate level or its equivalent.
- At least six (6) years of relevant professional experience.
- International experience working in several countries.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- International experience working in several developing countries.

Additional Information
This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staff's particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staff's performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
