Job Overview/Summary:
The Senior Program Manager will coordinate HR systems projects, including Workday implementation. Additionally, the Senior Program Manager will support business-critical software systems to ensure successful operation and evolution to adapt to organizational needs.
In this role, the Senior Program Manager is charged with supplying Project Management support vital for a successful Workday implementation and field deployment across various global offices. This position is central to leading enterprise-level HR technology initiatives. This position will be expected to implement Agile Project Management procedures to efficiently manage program workstreams. This includes supporting proper product backlog management, sprint planning, task management, etc.
They will help coordinate the planning and execution of integrated solution design, configuration, development and testing tasks. This entails the technical setup, connected business workflows, communication, and training vital for the success of the design and implementation. This requires strong management of both internal IRC staff and external implementation partners.
In close partnership with Finance, Supply Chain, People and Culture (P&C) Business Owners and field leadership, this position is responsible for supporting project management activities required for the implementation of standardized global business processes across the organization. They will play a crucial role in facilitating transformation throughout the global organization and will be responsible for assisting with enterprise transitions, communications, and training.
The individual will work in collaboration with other Project Managers, Information Technology and Business Leadership to manage technical, functional and change work streams as well as establish and maintain an integrated approach that ensures all functional areas work seamlessly together.
Major Responsibilities:
- Creates and Maintains and Integrated Project Plan: Develops, and continually updates, detailed program management plans. Develops work breakdown structures based on the project objectives and scope. Ensures the implementation methodology is adhered to.
- Manages Project Status Reporting: Prepares status reports to communicate project scope, goals, achievements, budget, risk, status, change requests, and critical issues to the client and project team.
- Supervises Project Cost Estimation, Ongoing Budget Tracking and Vendor Invoicing: Provides oversight of budget tracking and invoicing. Assists in developing costs estimates and analyzing data.
- Performs Project Resource Management: Provides work direction and leadership to assigned projects, including scheduling, assignment of work and review of project efforts. Identifies project resource requirements and staff assignments. Checks for staff availability. Updates the project plan with work assignments.
- Conducts Risk Management: Maintains documentation for identified risks and mitigation strategies. Proactively gathers and updates risk status and documentation as needed.
- Supports Customer Management: Works with technology and business owners to analyze customer expectations for projects based upon approved project requirements.
- Provides Overall Project Administration: Participates in program team meetings, proactively documents meeting minutes, track issues, decisions and action items, and follow-up between meetings to drive issues to closure.

- Maintains a productive working relationship with other Project Managers, business owners, project sponsors, system users, and vendors.

Job Requirements:
Experience / Education
- Successfully managed complex programs with technology components.
- Six or more years of project management experience in IT or software, ideally with HR systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience managing Workday projects preferred
- International NGO/Global Humanitarian Organization experience in a developing country preferred.
- Project and/or program management certification (PMP, CSM, etc.) preferred.
Skills / Competencies
- Excellent project management skills, with demonstrated track record of applying program management principles, practices and techniques with strong results orientation. Experience with Agile project management practices will be preferred.
- Experience using project management software tools such as Jira, Monday.com, and other tools, to effectively lead, manage, monitor and control project activities.
- Proficiency in regulatory requirements, safeguarding data, and adapting to changes within an HR technical environment.
- Ability to develop strong partnerships with both the technology and business use communities. Self-motivated and a problem solver who can assess and develop strategies for achieving the needs of the user community.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak to technical-level staff and develop written reporting and presentational content with level-appropriate messaging up to and including the senior executive level.
- Ability to manage P&C Technology Core Team members in line with the goals of the Enterprise Application program. Encourages and facilitates partnership, results orientation, and collaboration within the team.
- Demonstrated skill in working in a matrix environment, notably in multi-functional teams across different lines of business, where direct authority might not be present.
Working Environment:
- The position can be fully remote, with an in-person office setting available for staff located near IRC’s New York City Headquarters location or in London if the candidate is from the UK.

Compensation: (Pay Range: $114,431 - $121,288) Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
