Mission and objectives

UNODC’s mandate is to support Member States in the prevention of illicit drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism which hare encompassed in the framework of the UNODC Regional Programme for South-Eastern Europe 2024/2029. The three pillars of the UNODC field work are:

- Field-based technical cooperation projects enhancing the capacity of Member States to counteract illicit drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism.
- Research and analytical work to increase knowledge and understanding of drug and crime-related issues, and expand the evidence base for policy and operational deci-sions.
- Normative, policy and advocacy work to assist states in the ratification and implemen-tation of international treaties and the development of domestic legislation and policies in the thematic areas under UNODC mandates.

UNODC advocates a balanced approach to drug control, emphasising the importance of preventive education and treatment for addicts, as well as measures to reduce production and trafficking. UNODC assists governments and law enforcement agencies in increasing the effectiveness of domestic legislation as well as in enhancing their capacities to investigate, dismantle and prosecute trafficking groups, through technical assistance, training and the provision of modern technical equipment.

Context

The Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) programme, jointly led by UNDP ICPSD and UNV, mobilizes skilled digital volunteers to co-create open-source tools that strengthen transparency, accountability, and resilience in governance systems.
In collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tech4R is developing a Digital Catalogue of Managed Assets — an online platform that promotes transparency and public access to information on seized and managed properties.
This catalogue will contribute to building trust in institutions, promoting open data culture, and supporting responsible asset management
The Design & Branding Volunteers will create the platform’s visual identity, ensuring professional design, accessibility, and alignment with the visual standards of UNODC and the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Task description

The volunteers will work to:
• Develop a coherent visual identity for the Digital Catalogue platform.
• Design layouts, icons, and interface components consistent with UN and national branding guidelines.
• Support front-end developers with UI/UX design recommendations for accessibility and clarity.
• Create visual templates for dashboard elements, banners, and data visualization components.
• Prepare a short Branding & Visual Style Guide for platform maintenance and future updates.
• Ensure that the final design is intuitive, inclusive, and visually aligned with institutional values of transparency and public service.
