Job Overview/Summary: The Market and Community Engagement Officer will lead outreach, mobilization, and engagement efforts to ensure effective participation of youth, refugees, and vulnerable host community members in the program’s financial inclusion, skills development, and entrepreneurship pathways. The officer will build strong linkages with stakeholders, local communities, youth centers, and private sector partners to promote inclusive access to program opportunities, ensuring alignment with market needs and sustainability objectives. For this period specifically, the work will be within a project focused on financial literacy and financial inclusion as well as an entrepreneurship component in later stages of the project. Additionally, the Market and Community Engagement Officer will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day tasks in IRC youth space in East Amman.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Implementation & Technical Quality
- Lead awareness and information sessions on program components.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to ensure the involvement of women, refugees, youth, and other marginalized groups in accordance with program guidelines.
- Maintain an accurate log for training attendees and their performance in impact evaluation.
- lead internal and external referral and liaising process in coordination with other IRC team members.
- Facilitate awareness sessions, networking events (i.e. job fairs, community exhibitions, bazaars, etc.) as required by program design.
- Identify market trends, business opportunities, and skill demand to align training curricula with real-world needs.
- Conduct any other ad hoc tasks that are required and as requested by direct supervisor.
Youth Space Coordination
- Guarantee the Young People's Area follows IRC working hours and/or scheduled activities within the designated space.
- Ensure activities are being implemented based on the required standards and the needs of the clients and partners.
- in charge of the recruitment, training, and monitoring of volunteers needed
- Process transportation requests for clients through internal workflow system and according to criteria.
- Manage data for Youth Space activities, ensuring accurate monitoring and reporting.
- Coordinate with IRC partner organizations the availability and usage of the Youth Space, as well as local organizations, youth groups and stakeholders requesting use of the space for activities such as training sessions, awareness sessions etc.
- Help coordinate the logistics for IRC Youth Space.
- Report activities and issues directly to supervisor.
Partnerships and Coordination
- Participate in regular team meetings and supervision sessions.
- Work constructively within the team and take initiative on new tasks and ideas.
- Coordinate transportation plans with the operations team as needed.
- Coordinate program activities with implementing partners and partner organizations.
- Support implementing partners as program requires.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- University Degree or equivalent experience in a similar field.
- Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in community outreach, youth engagement, or market linkages, preferably within livelihoods or development programs, experience within IRC Jordan ERD program is preferred.
- Experience engaging with private sector actors and civil society organizations.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record to outreach to and mobilize diverse groups and develop partnerships.
- Proficiency in Arabic and good command of English (spoken and written).
- Willingness to work in Amman, and travel to other cities for activities as needed.
