Mission and objectives

UN-HABITAT UKR organization mission TBD

Context

The Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) programme, co-led by UNDP ICPSD and UNV, mobilizes skilled digital volunteers to develop open-source tools supporting disaster resilience, recovery, and sustainable development. In collaboration with UN-Habitat Ukraine, Tech4R is implementing a GIS-Based Recovery Dashboard for Borodianka hromada (Kyiv Oblast). The tool visualizes reconstruction efforts and environmental risks to strengthen data-driven recovery planning. The Localization & Documentation Volunteers will support the translation, bilingual adaptation, and documentation of the dashboard to ensure accessibility for both Ukrainian and English-speaking users, as well as for future replication in other municipalities.

Task description

The Volunteers will:

• Translate dashboard interface elements, labels, and content from English to Ukrainian (and vice versa), ensuring accuracy and contextual relevance.
• Adapt visual and textual content for cultural and linguistic consistency.
• Support creation of bilingual user guides, FAQs, and technical documentation for municipal staff.
• Collaborate with the Visualization and Dashboard Development teams to ensure language alignment.
• Review translations for terminology consistency with UN-Habitat communication standards.
• Prepare clear documentation of system setup, data workflows, and update procedures.
• Support final proofreading and formatting before dashboard delivery.
