UN-HABITAT UKR organization mission TBD
Context
The Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) initiative, co-led by UNDP ICPSD and UNV, mobilizes skilled digital volunteers to co-create open-source digital tools that strengthen resilience, enhance transparency, and support data-driven decision-making. In collaboration with UN-Habitat Ukraine, Tech4R is developing a GIS-Based Recovery Dashboard for Borodianka hromada (Kyiv Oblast). The tool will consolidate reconstruction project data, environmental risks, and spatial layers into a single interactive system to improve recovery planning and monitoring. The Data Cleaning & Quality Assurance Volunteers will play a key role in preparing the datasets for integration into the dashboard by cleaning, validating, and standardizing data to ensure its reliability and usability.
Task description
The Volunteers will:
• Review raw datasets (Excel, CSV, shapefiles) for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
• Identify and correct duplicates, missing values, and format inconsistencies.
• Standardize project naming conventions, location data, and sectoral classifications.
• Validate geocoded data and verify metadata entries.
• Collaborate with GIS and Dashboard teams to ensure all datasets are compatible for integration.
• Perform quality assurance checks on finalized layers and project attributes.
• Document the data cleaning procedures for replication and transparency.
