Organizational Setting

The Information Technology Division (CSI) is responsible for all IT activities within the Organization. CSI performs on behalf of the Organization the following critical roles\: defining FAO IT policies and providing strategic advice on IT architecture and standards, governance, policy and operational matters while monitoring organizational compliance; defining the mechanisms for managing FAO's information and data; protecting FAO's information assets and ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability; ensuring provision of IT services that are core for the Organization's global operations and supporting the information and business processes; coordinating organization-wide IT activities in order to reduce duplication and fragmentation and to increase integration of information data, systems and platforms, mobilizing IT resources from across the Organization; provide IT solutions to HQ and field offices as requested by the business units.


Reporting Lines

Under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Officer (Digital Solutions area), the incumbent will act as senior Power Platform solution provider performing the following functions.


Technical Focus

The Microsoft Power Platform solution provider is a member of an agile development team who translates user requirements into solutions by analysing, designing, testing, and integrating standard Power Platform features, custom components, and corporate tools in order to implement sustainable and efficient solutions.


Tasks and responsibilities

• Translate functional requirements into conceptual and detailed design of Power Platform components and solutions
• Design, test and debug of SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Pages and Dataverse applications as per user requirements
• Participate in an Agile software development team, building high quality and effective software products that deliver real business in the shortest time
• Provide technical expertise in the usage of newer Microsoft technologies
• Participate in initiatives related to the promotion of the usage of Microsoft Power Platform technologies and the migration processes
• Propose and implement AI based solutions integrated in Web sites or PowerApps
• Participate in technical coordination of the Power Platform community and citizens developers
• Participate in the definition of technical governance for Power Platform solutions
• Contribute to the integration of corporate systems and tools with Power Platform solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation as needed

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements


• For consultants\: Advanced University degree or equivalent from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in Computer Science, IT Engineering, Professional Software Engineer or closely related discipline.
• Working knowledge of English, French or Spanish and limited knowledge of one of the other two or Arabic, Chinese, Russian.
• For PSAs\: University Degree in one of the above-mentioned fields or equivalent technical experience in the subject.
• Working knowledge of English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or Russian.
• At least 5 years of experience in developing Microsoft Power Platform based Solutions

Technical/Functional Skills

• 5 years of experience with design and development of O365 solutions and modules
• 5 years working and proven experience with PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerShell, web services, stand-alone and console applications,
• In depth knowledge of Dataverse and Microsoft API
• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture and cloud infrastructure
