About this position
The IDB is seeking to fill an Oversight, Audit and Compliance Senior Specialist position to work in the Office of the Executive Auditor (AUG). You will report directly or indirectly to the Executive Auditor, who reports to the President and to the Board through its Audit Committee.

What you’ll do
Contribute to the integration of data analytic capabilities to improve client impact and results.
Develop data analytics objectives and procedures for the assigned engagements; support the data collection, validation, normalization, and analysis, as well as reporting and documentation of results.
Lead teams that conduct assurance and advisory engagements of high complexity, impact, and broad scope, establishing objectives, reviewing, and approving audit programs, and overseeing work produced throughout the various phases of the projects.
Demonstrate leadership skills by communicating effectively, handling difficult conversations, and providing timely and constructive feedback. Show resilience and sound judgment on complex and sensitive issues, make firm decisions when needed, and use diplomacy while challenging assumptions to reach the best solutions for the organization.
Perform audit-related work in accordance with audit standards and AUG procedures, needed for the completion of specific engagement to be assigned in due time.
Ensure that audit work remains focused on the areas that have the most significant impact on business performance.
Contribute to the development of innovative tools, methodologies, internal procedures, policies and internal audit approaches and strategies.
Demonstrate leadership skills, including strong communication capabilities to handle difficult conversations and provide timely and constructive feedback.
Coach and mentor junior staff to build technical and human skills.
Contribute to knowledge sharing and growth across the AUG team, by creating an environment where ideas are fostered and strengthening and challenging the teams in areas of less expertise.
Build on best practices and generate knowledge in area of expertise.
Represent AUG internally and externally and build and maintain networks to access and expand knowledge.
Support the preparation and delivery of audit presentations to Senior Management and to the Board through the Audit Committees.
Provide strategic insights and advice on key Group initiatives and changes.
Collaborate with other oversight offices, risk management functions and external auditors to enhance the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal control processes of the IDB Group.
What you'll need
Education: Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Management Information Systems, or other related fields including program development, monitoring, business analysis, etc. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) may be considered in lieu of a master’s degree.
Experience: A minimum of six years of experience delivering best practice internal or external audit services in large, complex financial and/or development institutions.
Language(s): Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

Type of contract and duration
• International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
