Officer – Civil Engineer

ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic and motivated Indian nationals as Officer - Civil Engineer in Farm & Engineering Services under Corporate Services. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing civil construction activities, ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and related structures. This includes managing modifications, upgrades, and the development of new infrastructure across offices, laboratories, residential facilities, and other areas within the campus. Ensuring the maintenance & upkeep of uninterrupted drinking water supply, sewerage and storm water systems of the campus. This position will be based at ICRISAT’s Headquarters in Patancheru, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop and maintain all physical infrastructure at ICRISAT campus

  • Ensure timely & quality delivery of various works/ projects (maintenance, upgrades & new developments)

  • Plan, estimation, construction supervision, quantity measurements and billings.

  • Supervise and lead the maintenance, upgrade and new construction projects for research & non-research activity.

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders both internal & external for effective implementation of the jobs.

  • Advise management on critical Capital replacement plans based on organizational priorities and suggest cost-saving measures.

  • Should have the aptitude to work with inter-disciplinary teams in multi-cultural environment.

  • Coordination between various agencies and disciplines for efficient and timely delivery of services.

  • Implement good quality standards, cost-efficiency in all the works.

Essential criteria:

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering or similar from a reputed university.

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in civil construction and maintenance

  • Experience with well reputed construction / similar organizations, would be an added advantage

  • Thorough knowledge of building construction and good maintenance practices.

  • Knowledge in use of MS-Projects will be an added advantage.

General:

This is a contractual role for a period of 36 months (3 years), renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institute’s continuing need for the position.
