UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees. The incumbent reports to the designated supervisor in accordance with the organizational structure.
Responsibilities
- Supports the delivery and implementation of human resources services and functions, as assigned, in alignment with established Agency policies and procedures. - Prepares, reviews, and ensures accuracy and completeness of forms, documents, submissions and correspondences related to the assigned portfolio. - Provides advice and support to staff and management on human resources-related matters, ensuring consistent interpretation and application of the Staff Rules and Regulations and related directives. - Coordinates, processes and monitors transactions and actions in the Human Resources Management system and ensures accurate record-keeping, data entry, and reporting across assigned portfolios. Follows up with relevant staff /departments at HQs and the Fields. - Contributes to the development and implementation of HR procedures, guidelines and workflows; identifies opportunities for process improvement and assists in integrating feedback and lessons learned into service delivery. - Compiles, analyses, and presents HR data and statistics, and provides required information to support evidence-based planning, decision-making, and reporting needs; prepares summaries and documentation as required. - Liaises with internal and external stakeholders on HR-related queries and matters; ensures timely and effective communication and coordination to support service continuity and client satisfaction. - Acts as focal point for issues related to diversity and inclusion. Contributes to initiatives that foster fairness, equity, and respect in the workplace. - Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. - The incumbent may be required to travel in the Agency’s area of operations in the Middle East.

Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment for 3 years; including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need.
