Position Title: Field Coordinator
Location: Ukraine (with field travel as required)
Duration: 12 months (with potential for extension)
Type of Contract: Consultancy (daily - rate based)
Reporting to: Project Manager / M&E Lead – ImpaXion Consultancy and Development

ImpaXion Consultancy and Development is an independent consultancy, evaluation, and research firm based in Iraq. Since 2022, we have been delivering expert consultancy, monitoring, evaluation, and training services for international and local NGOs, donors, businesses, and third-party actors in humanitarian contexts across Iraq, the broader Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe. In response to ongoing humanitarian needs in Ukraine, ImpaXion is expanding its presence in the country and is seeking a Field Coordinator to support our evaluation, assessment, and field monitoring assignments. Position Purpose:
The Field Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and supervising field-level data collection activities across various humanitarian and development projects. The role involves working closely with enumerators, partners, and local stakeholders to ensure high-quality, timely, and ethical data collection in line with ImpaXion standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
The Field Coordinator will be responsible for carrying out the following duties and requirements:

Coordination & Planning:
Coordinate and oversee all field-level operations, including planning, logistics, and scheduling of data collection activities.
Liaise with local authorities, NGOs, and partners to facilitate access and community entry.
Assist in developing data collection plans, field schedules, and field team deployment strategies.

Field Team Management:
Supervise and support enumerators, translators, and field supervisors.
Conduct enumerator briefings, training, and spot checks to ensure adherence to tools and protocols.
Monitor team performance and report issues to the project manager.

Quality Assurance
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of collected data.
Conduct back-checks and validation exercises in coordination with the central M&E team.
Flag any inconsistencies or risks during the data collection process.

Logistics & Administration:
Manage field logistics, including transportation, accommodation, and procurement of supplies.
Maintain accurate records of field expenses and submit timely reports to the operations team.
Support in obtaining local permits or approvals when needed.

Reporting & Communication:
Provide regular field updates, including progress reports, challenges, and mitigation strategies.
Support in debriefing sessions with the central team and clients.
Document lessons learned and field insights that may inform future programming.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Requirement    Details
Education: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international development, public administration, or a related field. 
Experience    Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in field coordination, M&E, or data collection for NGOs, research firms, or humanitarian organizations. Experience in the Ukrainian context is preferred.
Language Skills    Fluency in English is essential, also Fluency in Ukrainian and/or Russian.
Technical Skills    Strong knowledge of data collection methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) and use of mobile data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK).
Soft Skills    Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
Other Requirements    Ability to travel within Ukraine, including conflict-affected or hard-to-reach areas, following safety protocols.

Desirable Skills:
Experience working with research or third-party monitoring firms.
Knowledge of humanitarian response sectors (WASH, protection, health, food security, livelihood, etc.).
Familiarity with data quality control measures and ethical research practices.
First aid or safety/security training is an advantage.

Working Conditions:
The Field Coordinator will be based in Ukraine, with frequent travel to field locations depending on project needs.
This is a full-time position. Working hours and travel may vary depending on project timelines and operational requirements.
