Job Specific Context

The Data Analyst is to ensure data integrity and quality across systems and processes for our partner DHMOSH.


The Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH) provides health-related services in New York and in over 100 locations worldwide.


The Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Section focuses on occupational health risks and will commence the collection of information about occupationally incurred injury or illness, allowing for the development of baseline estimates of tangible and intangible costs. It also manages sick leave, disability, medical clearances, medical evacuations and repatriations, and preparedness for public health emergencies, including the medical aspects of crisis and mass casualty response plans in field duty stations.


This is a position in UNOPS for supporting projects carried out for or in the United Nations Secretariat for OSH. 

The incumbent of this position will be a personnel of UNOPS under its full responsibility.

Role Purpose

Under the overall administrative supervision of UNOPS ICT Officer or an assigned person, the main role of the Data Analyst is to work under the direct operational guidance of the partner in DHMOSH to provide data analysis to support DHMOSH operations. 

Functions / Key Results Expected

The Data Analyst will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Ad-hoc analysis reports based on business needs.

Education Requirements

Required:

  • Advanced University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) preferably in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years of relevant experience OR

  • A first level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) preferably in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field with four (4) years of experience 

Experience Requirements

Required:

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau)

  • Experience in data visualization, analytics and information management;

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence.

Desired:

  • Previous Experience in a UN environment, civil society organizations and/or non-governmental organizations is highly desired;

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
