Project Officer/ORAS - interim support
Location: EUAA HQ, Valletta.
Tentative start date: 02/02/2026 till 31/01/2027.
Salary Category IV - Gross monthly: EUR 3,920.31 Euros.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be assigned to EUAA, which is an EU Regulatory Agency headquartered in Malta with a mandate to strengthen EU Member States’ practical cooperation on asylum, to support Member States whose asylum systems are under particular pressure and to enhance the implementation of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS).
Responsibilities:
- Support the management of the EUAA Resettlement and Humanitarian Admission Network, the implementation of the Network’s workplan, meetings and its underlying Working Groups and Expert Groups;
- Provide technical support in the different Working Groups of the Network;
- Organize bilateral support activities by drafting invitation letters, preparing circulation folders, taking care of organizational and practical arrangements for participants, preparing relevant material for the activities (e.g. attendance lists, agendas, evaluation forms, certificates), preparing and sharing reimbursement forms with participants; working as Data Entry Agent in Paperless and processing reimbursements for participants;
- Draft and prepare presentations, minutes, emails, official letters, briefings and circulation folders;
- Assist the Sector with various administrative tasks, including updating the Resettlement & Humanitarian Admission Digital Platform, liaising with Logistics, ICT and Events Sector;
- When needed, desk research, collection and analysis of information;
- Coordinate project interventions and prepare and update project documents accordingly;
- Support stakeholder management and communication functions;
- Support planning, monitoring and evaluation functions;
- Perform other tasks/duties as required.
Minimum requirement
- A completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma;
- Professional experience of 2 years relevant to the above described responsibilities;
- Thorough Knowledge of English (level C1 in all dimensions as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or CEFRL);
- Good knowledge of French (level B2 in all dimensions as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or CEFRL) an additional asset;
- Computer literacy, including MS Office Suite, use of internet and web-based applications;
- Very good communication and drafting skills;
- Be able to work in a proactive organised manner and to prioritise activities;
- Ability to work in a team, having an eye for detail, accuracy, ability to analyse and structure information, to conceptualise problems and implement solutions.
Advantageous criteria
- Previous experience with duties mentioned above is preferable;
- Previous experience on Procurement and Project Management is advantageous.

Non-resident rate: Non-Maltese employees who are moving to Malta for the purposes of employment will be subject to "Non-resident" tax rates for the first 183 days from arrival – these are higher than the standard rates. Once 183 days of residence are reached, income tax will be recalculated for the entire period of employment in the current year from arrival in Malta, and the tax will be adjusted to recover any overpaid tax. If the 183-day period extends into the following year, and 183 days of residence in Malta are not accumulated, the overpaid tax will need to be claimed back from the authorities with personal income tax return.
