Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

DRC is currently looking for a Support Services Officer (English Teacher)  in Dnipro. 

The purpose of the role is to strengthen staff capacity by providing structured English language training. The Support Services Officer (English Teacher) will plan and deliver lessons, support learners at different proficiency levels, and help improve the overall communication skil.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 

  • Deliver group and individual English classes for staff at different proficiency levels
  • Provide assessment and accommodate English classes for different levels of English proficiency among employees
  • Develop a teaching plan aligned with staff schedules
  • Track attendance and monitor learners’ progress; adjust methods to support all learners
  • Monitor and evaluate learner progress. Provide periodic progress updates to the line manager

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a  University degree in English, Linguistics, Philology, Education, or any other relevant field.You should also have at least 2 years of relevant experience. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required 

  • Proven experience teaching English at least 1year
  • Computer literacy: confident user of the MS Office suite programs
  • Ability to design engaging, practical lessons with clear outcomes
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Positive, supportive teaching style that encourages confidence in learners

Desirable 

  • English proficiency should be supported by a recognized certification.
  • Experience using AI-based tools to enhance teaching
  • Ability to apply blended learning techniques that mix face-to-face sessions with digital learning support
  • Experience teaching in a diverse team environment

We offer

  • Contract length: the fixed-term contract until 30th April 2026 after the successful completion of 3 months probation period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and available funding.

  • Start date: January 2026.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for national staff.
