Context

UNICEF Algeria plays a central role in supporting the Sahrawi Refugee Response in Tindouf, working with partners to ensure children and women have access to essential services of Health, Nutrition and Education. Communication and advocacy are key enablers for mobilizing support, enhancing visibility for donors and partners, and placing children’s rights at the centre of the humanitarian agenda.
Based in Tindouf and under the direct supervision of the Chief Field Office and a dotted line to the Chief of Comms and Advocacy and strategic direction of the UNICEF Representative, the Communication Associate supports the implementation of UNICEF’s humanitarian communication, advocacy, and visibility agenda, ensuring that the realities of children, youth, and women in the camps are accurately reflected in national and international outreach efforts.
The position ensures high-quality content production, digital storytelling, and field-level visibility aligned with UNICEF’s global standards. The role requires strong initiative, creativity, cultural sensitivity, and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to translate field realities into compelling and ethical communication outputs.
The post is instrumental in linking field evidence to national advocacy, donor visibility, and UNICEF’s strategic positioning as a leading humanitarian actor in the Sahrawi response.
