Organizational Context

The IFRC is led by its Secretary General, and has its Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The Headquarters are organized into three main Divisions: (i) National Society Development and Operations Coordination; (ii) Global Relations, Humanitarian Diplomacy and Digitalization; and (iii) Management Policy, Strategy and Corporate Services. The IFRC has five regional offices in Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The IFRC also has country cluster delegation and country delegations throughout the world. Together, the Geneva Headquarters and the field structure (regional, cluster and country) comprise the IFRC Secretariat. This position is based in the Yaoundé Country Cluster Delegation in Cameroon, covering Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Sao Tome & Principe.

Job Purpose

The Intern will be responsible for performance-based management systems and the overall quality and effectiveness of data collection for food security indicators, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, high quality reporting in the Yaoundé CCD. Assist operations to ensure the quality and timely delivery of all plans/appeals/reports; and work with IFRC staff and SNs in the Yaoundé Delegation to ensure compliance with IFRC planning, monitoring and evaluation and reporting standards. The intern will also support the production of any appeal revisions and contribute to the writing of proposals for donors

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the PMER Senior Officer, the intern will perform the following duties and responsibilities: • Support daily consolidation, cleaning, validation, and basic analysis of household survey and monitoring data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to IFRC PMER standards and tools (e.g. Kobo, Excel, dashboards). • Assist in tracking field activities against planned targets, monitoring enumerator and volunteer performance, and flagging implementation or data collection gaps for timely corrective action.

• Support the systematic collection, documentation, and preliminary analysis of community feedback, complaints, and referrals, and contribute to integrating AAP findings into operational decision-making. • Contribute to the preparation of PMER inputs for DREF updates and final reports, including tables, charts, maps, and annexes, ensuring consistency with IFRC indicator banks and reporting templates. • Support documentation of lessons learned, good practices, and challenges throughout implementation, contributing to after-action reviews, learning products, and evidence generation for future food security and resilience programming. Perform other activities as required by the line manager

Education

A degree in statistics, data science, Social Science or other relevant area or master’s degree in M&E, Economics or related disciplines and professional experience in M&E.

Experience

• Data collection and analysis • Work or volunteer experience in the international humanitarian sector • Experience in emergency planning, monitoring and reporting • Experience of report writing (narrative and financial) Experience of working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent in particular working with National Societies

• Sound writing skills • Ability to organise, analyse and synthesise large amounts of information • Good presentation, note-taking and facilitation skills • Be flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions • Strong coordination and time-management skills • Strong research analysis and writing skills • Proven good judgment and ability to work with complete integrity and confidentiality. • Able to work on own initiative and solve problems • Ability to work within a multi-cultural, multilingual, multidisciplinary environment Computer skills (Windows, spreadsheets, word-processing, other statistical software) . Proficient in Spoken and written English and French.
