POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Assistant will provide administrative, logistical, coordination, and basic technical support for the implementation of the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation for Methane Mitigation (AKCMM) Project in Indonesia. The project assistant will support day-to-day activities including event preparation, stakeholder coordination, data collection, documentation, and basic research inputs.
Additionally, the role involves providing technical support on methane mitigation issues by liaising with stakeholders. The Project Assistant will also contribute to data collection activities, including information gathering, data processing, and ensuring that technical information is accurately reported and disseminated.
PURPOSE
The primary role of the Project Assistant is to support the project team in coordinating and providing technical assistance for the timely delivery and consistent quality of outputs and activities under the AKCMM Project in Indonesia. The Project Assistant will ensure smooth project operations by facilitating effective coordination among stakeholders, supporting technical processes, and ensuring compliance with established institutional policies, standards, and donor requirements. This includes assisting in the coordination of project activities, technical reporting, data management, and stakeholder engagement to achieve the project’s objectives.
ENGAGEMENT
The Project Assistant will work as a part of GGGI’s Indonesia Country Program and be based in Jakarta. Reporting to AKCMM Country Project Manager, and working closely with the project team, S/he will work in collaboration with GGGI Indonesia Team, as well as AKCMM’s Regional Project Management Unit (PMU) Manager based in Bangkok, Thailand.
1) Daily Coordination
- Assist PM and the overall team of AKCMM Project in Indonesia to coordinate project activities.
- Closely coordinate with FCS team in Indonesia and PMU regional unit for administrative requirement.
- Maintain stakeholder contact lists and engagement trackers.
- Communicate meeting schedules, follow-up actions, and documentation.
- Maintain project documentation for external and internal communications as well as reporting purposes.
2) Event and Travel Support
- Prepare logistics (venue, materials, agendas, invitations, attendance lists, ticket and accommodation coordination).
- Assist during event implementation.
- Support post event reporting and coordination, including travel claim processing and distribution of meeting minutes.
- Support coordination with related stakeholders, including participants, resource person, and government partners.
3) Technical & Reporting Support
- Assist in gathering information, inputs, and simple research.
- Provide drafts of meeting notes, summaries, and basic communication materials.
- Support preparation of activity updates, monitoring inputs, and event documentation.
DELIVERY
- Coordinate project operations by ensuring the effective delivery of tasks that support the overall project execution, including assisting the Project team with procurement processes, managing data, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Organize and coordinate meetings and documentation, including preparing necessary materials and taking meeting notes, in close collaboration with the Project team.
- Liaise with stakeholders on in methane mitigation issues , maintaining and managing the stakeholder database to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Coordinate event preparation with the Project team, ensuring that all technical and logistical aspects are well-managed.
- Support the drafting and review of communication materials and knowledge products related to the Project, in close collaboration with the Communications Team and the Project Team.
- Conduct research on the technical aspects of the Project, including gathering information, processing data, drafting summaries of relevant regulatory frameworks, and identifying potential synergies and overlaps with other initiatives in the sector.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum Bachelor’s degree in public policy, sustainable development, international relations, or other related fields.
- Preferably 2 years or more of working experiences on sustainable development or environmental fields.
- Have basic understanding on environmental and climate issues, with relevant academic or internship experiences, is considered an advantage.
- Experience in working with the government (national and subnational level) and non-government counterparts on a day-to-day basis in Indonesia is essential.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural and international organization, especially related to ASEAN is preferred.
- Experience in organizing events in a dynamic environment with a variety of stakeholders is highly preferred.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia are essential.
- Willingness to travel, if required.

- Experience in administrative processes necessary for project implementation.
- Experience in research and analysis to support project implementation, with knowledge of quantitative methods as an asset.

INTRODUCTION
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) was established as an intergovernmental organization to promote sustainable development of developing and emerging countries including the least developed countries. GGGI is dedicated to supporting the creation and diffusion of the model of economic growth known as “green growth”. The green growth model integrates economic growth, environmental sustainability, poverty reduction and social inclusion.
GGGI’s role and objective in Indonesia is to assist the Government of Indonesia in delivering green growth by developing capacity, driving investment, and designing green projects with social, environmental, and economic benefits for the people of Indonesia. The collaboration is designed to align with the National Development Plan (RPJPN 2025-2045 and RPJMN 2025-2029), Nationally Determined Contribution to the UNFCCC climate targets (NDC), and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
ASEAN-Korea Cooperation for Methane Mitigation (AKCMM)
A 3-year program designed to strengthen ASEAN Member States’ collective capacity in reducing methane emissions, by establishing a strong institutional, technical, and financial foundation for large-scale methane reduction efforts. Funded by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF), the project aims to create an enabling environment for methane reduction at scale in the ASEAN region by providing technical and financial support in the following four areas:
- Developing enabling policies and institutions,
- Improving the measurement of methane emissions,
- Designing, financing, and implementing methane reduction projects, and
- Promoting regional dialogue and partnership
Aligned with the Government of Indonesia’s priority program to tackle waste management challenges, the AKCMM Project’s interventions in Indonesia are designed to connect climate action with practical waste management solutions. A technical committee for the implementation of AKCMM Project in Indonesia has established under the Ministerial Decree No. 1848/2025 on National Working Forum on Methane Reduction to the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation on Methane Mitigation/ Forum Kerja Nasional (FKN) untuk Penurunan Metana dalam AKCMM. The Government of Indonesia, represented by the Ministry of Environment, is partnering with GGGI to support Methane Reduction effort which contribute to the improvement of waste management in Indonesia.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The Project Assistant, Methane Mitigation role is an X4 National Scale of Indonesia grade level in GGGI's salary scale. Determination of base salary is subject to candidate's experience, academic background and internal equity. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
