The purpose of this consultancy is to design, produce, and deliver a high-quality podcast-inspired video interview series aligned with SPICE learning objectives, featuring entrepreneurs from the global New Space Economy, as a bonus segment of the SPICE online course. The consultant will prepare a) an inception report outlining the creative concept, marketing and production plan; b) 10 to 15 edited video interviews, each approximately 30 minutes in duration, including one business pitch per entrepreneur, and c) marketing and outreach materials including but not limited to series trailer, PowerPoint template and brochure, submitted in editable format.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Space Economy Lead, the overall guidance of the Chief of the Space Applications Section and under the overall strategic coordination of the Director of the Office, the tasks of the consultant will include, but not be limited to: A. Concept development and editorial design • Develop a creative concept and visual identity for a 10 to 15-part, podcast-inspired video interview series aligned with SPICE learning objectives. • Propose an interview structure that balances personal storytelling with educational insights on entrepreneurship, commercialization, and lessons learned. • Design marketing and outreach materials, including but not limited to series trailer, PowerPoint template and brochure. B. Interview planning and production • Support the preparation and recording of approximately 10 to 15 professionally hosted video interviews, each approximately 30 minutes in length. • Capture entrepreneurs’ journeys, motivations, challenges, failures, successes, and advice for aspiring founders. • Ensure gender balance and broad geographical representation, with particular inclusion of entrepreneurs from developing countries. C. Business pitch segment • Include one professional business pitch video per entrepreneur in each interview video, showcasing clear value propositions and presentation techniques. • Ensure pitch videos are instructional in nature, enabling participants to learn effective pitching and communication skills by observation. D. Post-production and editing • Edit all interviews and pitch videos to a professional vodcast standard, including sound, lighting, graphics, and branding consistency. • Ensure all content is suitable for online learning platforms and digital dissemination. E. Coordination and quality assurance • Coordinate with the course team to ensure alignment with educational goals, tone, and accessibility requirements. • Incorporate feedback from UNOOSA and relevant stakeholders at key stages of production. F. Documentation and knowledge management • Submit all final materials in editable formats. • Provide brief recommendations for future updates or enhancements to modules. • Ensure all relevant information and documents are saved in a shared online folder in a timely and organized manner for ease of future reference by UNOOSA. • Be available to answer follow-up questions within three months after submission of final deliverables via email or other agreed mode of communication.

Qualifications/special skills

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, marketing, multimedia production, communications or a related field is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. At least five (5) years working experience in marketing and/or communications is required. Professional experience hosting podcast-inspired interviews, video editing and production is required.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
