    The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.

    Background information:

    UNICC is looking to enhance its ability to lead enterprise-level programmes by bringing on experienced leaders with demonstrated execution capabilities on large-scale initiatives.

    UNICC is increasingly delivering on portfolio work through larger programmes that involve managing senior stakeholder expectations and multiple complex workstreams, often encompassing technology implementation, change management, and process changes. The Programme Manager will ensure delivery meets customer expectations, maintain timely and proactive communication at multiple levels, and remediate and resolve issues.

    Main duties and responsibilities:

    The Programme Management Consultant will work on client programmes and projects under guidance of the Head, Programme Management Unit (DDPG). The makeup of delivery teams may span across multiple internal (UNICC, client teams) and external sources (vendors, consultancies, product teams). The Programme Management Consultant will need to be multi-faceted, with awareness of the political climate in India and the UN, and will need to have a swift learning curve to become familiar with and comply with UNICC’s programme and project management frameworks.

    Within the scope of UNICC’s Project Management Framework (Agile and PRINCE2), the Programme Management offering will include the following:

    • Under the guidance of the Head, DDPG, ensure coordination and follow-up on a portfolio of products/programmes/projects whilst leveraging PRINCE2 and/or Agile methodologies as applicable
    • Ensure that all assigned projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
    • Following the unit’s best practices, create, maintain, and execute the Project Plan within a collaborative environment
    • Support scope and decision process around any changes to expected programme outcomes, delivery commitments, and/or schedule
    • Adhere to the programme management framework for governance, advisory on decision making, dependency, and risk management
    • Under guidance and in collaboration with the Head, DDPG, advise multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams in programme/project development, implementation, monitoring, and assessment
    • Following the unit’s best practices, monitor project resources and track project costs
    • Track and monitor project progress against plan, requirements, quality measures, standard processes, and report performance using appropriate tools and techniques
    • Support project communications, including the schedule, to liaise with the project board and respective stakeholders during the entire project lifecycle
    • Create and maintain project management documents throughout the lifecycle of the project from Start Up to Closure
    • Support the execution of a proper Project Closure, including transition to operation, financial, and lessons learnt
    • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
    • Collaborate in the consecution of alignment across delivery teams who may represent resources from multiple internal (UNICC, client teams) and external sources (vendors, consultancies, product teams)
    • Identify priorities, problems, and issues to be addressed and propose corrective actions
    • Work in close collaboration with Organizational Change Management as/where applicable
    • The consultant must be in New Delhi or nearby areas to ensure regular attendance at client meetings

    • Four (4) or years of Project Management or Programme management experience with medium-to-large projects
    • Previous experience in overseeing or supporting high-profile programmes, including all aspects from program definition, resource alignment, governance structure setting, through implementation, go-live activities, adoption, and operationalization
    • Experience in supporting enterprise project portals and associated technologies, business management and development, internal and external client relationship management, proposal and contract management, software and hardware vendor relationship management
    • Experience with supporting activities among multiple internal and external teams
    • Sound familiarity with IT projects and service management standards, frameworks, methodologies, and best practices such as ITIL, PMI, PRINCE 2, and strong competency in Agile methodology (SCRUM).
    • Proven ability to gather client requirements, design appropriate solutions and prepare proposals
    • Excellent proactive risk identification and remediation capability

    Fee will be based either on the National Officer salary scales or the Individual Consultancy band levels (for Headquarters)
