2026 Graduate Internship Programme - HR Analytics, Process Improvement and AI

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is looking for recent graduates to join our 2026 Graduate Internship Programme. This programme will allow you to use the knowledge you gained during your studies in a professional environment. Programme duration: 7 – 11 months
Programme location: Basel, Switzerland
Programme start date: From May 2026 onwards

Purpose of the role:

In your role, you will support the HR team in various initiatives, including workforce data governance, HR process improvement, and employee experience enhancement. The role provides exposure to HR operations, opportunities to collaborate with multiple departments, and the chance to contribute to the development of effective HR strategies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the HR Services Delivery new function and assist in designing Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Learn and contribute to Workforce Data Governance principles and related activities.
  • Gain insights into the Employee Experience concept and support related initiatives.
  • Collaborating with multiple departments, including Information Governance and Management (IGM), HR Operations, HR Modernization, and HR Business Partners (HRBP).
  • Assist in promoting the adoption of new HR tools, processes, and frameworks.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree within Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, or any related field.
  • Basic understanding of data management principles.
  • Experience with Excel and reporting tools for data analysis.
  • Analytical mindset to identify patterns and opportunities for improvement.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, processes, and organizational frameworks.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and employee experience strategies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with workforce management concepts is a plus.

What do we offer:

We offer a 7-month contract with a monthly allowance of 3800 CHF plus health and accident insurance coverage for the duration of the contract.
