Unit Context
The Infrastructure Engineering team is instrumental in advancing the World Bank Group’s mission by designing, building, and maintaining the foundational IT infrastructure that supports global operations. The team manages critical infrastructure components end-to-end, including data centers, infrastructure as code, enterprise networks, storage systems, compute resources, virtualization platforms, and disaster recovery solutions. Role
Associate Infrastructure Engineer, responsible for the operation of enterprise Windows Server infrastructure and country office server replenishment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Deploy Windows servers on-premises and in cloud using the certified images.
• Regular patching of the Windows operating systems
• Manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory
• Managing NTFS and Share permissions on CIFS Shares.
• Install and monitor various infrastructure tools like CrowdStrike and Splunk.
• Perform Windows OS troubleshooting, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Experience with PowerShell Scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Knowledge of File\Print server management, as well as Anti-virus management tools.
• Patch management and Vulnerability management for windows operating systems.
• Provide support for server backup & monitoring.
• Implementation of monitoring and alerting capabilities for Windows Server environments.
• Experience using Splunk to build operational alerts, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Experience working with Service CMDB for incident management and change management.
• Maintain awareness of infrastructure security best practices and assist with the PAM (Privileged Access Management) tools to manage server access.
• Managing Windows workloads and related services in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, and OCI)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a SAFe Agile environment to deliver infrastructure services in alignment with business goals.
• Contribute to incidents, problems, and change management processes, including root cause analysis and documentation.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
• Develop and maintain clear, concise documentation for new and existing procedures to ensure operational consistency and knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of operational procedures and workflows; participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure adherence to World Bank Group (WBG) policies, processes, and procedures in all aspects of work.
• Demonstrate ownership and accountability by responding promptly and effectively to client inquiries, requests, and issues; proactively identify and remove roadblocks to successful task execution.
• Participate in team’s on-call rotation for production support.
