Job Description
Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission, and the direct supervision of the Private Sector Engagement Officer, the incumbent will assist IOM China on the following:
Responsibilities
- Support the enhancement of partnerships and resource mobilization efforts with private sector in China, contributing to initiatives that promote safe and orderly migration as a catalyst for sustainable development.
- Support the preparation and delivery of capacity building activities for private sector partners on responsible business practice, as well as logistical coordination and communication with stakeholders.
- Support the implementation, reporting, and communication of private sector projects, ensuring smooth execution of activities, timely delivery of outputs and effective documentation of results.
- Assist in strengthening and expanding IOM’s collaboration with corporate partners in areas including, but not limited to, support for vulnerable migrants, protection of migrants’ rights, and improved management and well-being of migrant workers.
- Support engagement with charity foundations, high‑net‑worth individuals and family offices, helping raise awareness of IOM’s work and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Assist in developing tailored communication materials (e.g., newsletters, case studies, website content, outreach emails, social media posts) to enhance IOM’s visibility and highlight IOM’s partnerships across public communication platforms, including social media.
Provide support in the planning, translation, coordination, implementation, toolkit development, logistics and communication for capacity‑building activities delivered to private sector partners.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in business management, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• A first-level university degree with relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree
EXPERIENCE
• At least three years of proven experience in coordination of fundraising campaigns in profit or non-profit entity.
• Experience in developing and implementing client/donor communication, marketing, public relations, or journalism, including content creation for newsletters, reports, websites, and social media.
• Experience in planning and implementing capacity-building activities, including content delivery and stakeholder coordination.
• Successful experience in private sector fundraising in China is preferred.
SKILLS
• Knowledge of individual giving models, donor engagement, philanthropic trends, and fundraising approaches particularly in the Chinese context.
• Familiarity with private sector’s approaches to ESG implementation
• Ability to conduct thorough desktop research, analyze trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
• Excellent writing and content development skills, with experience in drafting reports, newsletters, and promotional materials.
• Excellent oral communication skills preferably with experience in delivering trainings for professionals.
• Interpersonal & Cross-Cultural Skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken) is required.
