Project Context and Scope
Responsibilities
- Draft and publish day-to-day social media content for IOM Albania, as requested, including posts, visuals and short multimedia materials (e.g., photo stories, short video reels, quote cards and other visual products), in line with agreed templates and communication guidelines (ongoing, daily, throughout the contract period, aligned to activities calendar)
- Support and maintain monthly social media content calendars, ensuring continuous online presence and timely coverage of project priorities (submitted monthly by the 25th of each month for the following month and updated as needed)
- Draft web articles/blogs, news updates and human-interest stories that highlight projects activities and people-centred results, translating technical information into clear narratives for wider audiences (minimum one item per month and additionally on an ad hoc basis as jointly agreed)
- Assist in preparing content for information products (e.g., project information sheets, one-pagers, newsletters and other visibility materials), as requested (quarterly and on an ad hoc basis upon request)
- Provide communications support during selected projects activities, field visits and public events, including preparation of captions and visibility materials and on-site documentation through photography and video recordings (monthly scheduled as per the activities calendar)
- Ensure all communications outputs are produced in line with IOM communication guidelines, quality standards and applicable donor visibility requirements (ongoing, throughout the contract period; regular compliance check prior to submission of monthly deliverables)
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Completed university degree from an accredited academic institution in communications, journalism, media studies, marketing, public relations, social sciences, or other related fields.
Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in communications, media, digital content creation or related areas
- Experience in social media management, digital storytelling and multimedia content production
- Experience in drafting communication materials such as articles, social media posts and information products
- Experience in graphic design tools and multimedia content creation (e.g., Canva, Adobe tools or similar)
- Previous experience in website management platforms (e.g., Drupal, WordPress) is preferable
- Experience with social media algorithms, content optimization, impacting and influencing reports for social networks, building connections and adapting to target audiences, and interactive platforms and tools for online engagement is preferable
- Experience working with international organizations, NGOs or development projects would be an advantage.
Skills
- Ability to translate technical information into clear, accessible and engaging communication content
- Strong intercultural and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
Languages
- Fluency in Albanian and English (oral and written) is required.

Notes
IOM covers Consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
