The purpose of this consultancy is to assess the status of child environmental health in the Maldives. This involves identifying policy gaps, key priorities and outlining practical actions for government and partners to support HEHC‑aligned work for children. 2. Review current national policies, regulations, and institutional arrangements related to air quality, chemical/lead safety, waste and environmental health, and climate‑related risks, identifying major gaps and areas requiring improvement.
  3. Recommend priority actions for government and partners to improve Children’s Environmental Health, providing practical, HEHC‑aligned guidance for programming, policy development, and next steps.

The assessment will identify priority issues, existing gaps, and opportunities for action. This work will be carried out in close collaboration and guidance from UNICEF and Government.
