Job Description

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Supply Chain Officer, and under the direct supervision of the National Supply Chain Officer, Office Maintenance Assistant will be responsible and accountable for providing maintenance support to IOM premises in Ukraine through the range of actions.  

Responsibilities

  1. Provide building minor maintenance services.

  2. Maintain IOM storages in order, obtain supplies and equipment from/to storerooms.

  3. Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tool, reassemble equipment.

  4. Moving furniture and equipment within IOM premises. Installation of furniture and other office supplies. 

  5. Take cleaning supervision functions, conduct regular quality check of performance, identify issues and provide solutions.

  6. Ensure all cleaning tools and relevant materials are supplied timely. Arrange cleaning the snow and ice in front of IOM premises. 

  7. Maintain the water supply, heating systems and electricity in working condition.

  8. Collecting electricity (power), water usage / consumption for IOM Offices in Kyiv. 

  9. Perform data entry for office monthly consumption for electricity, water, heating and other utilities. 

  10. Prepare Request for Payments for office monthly utilities. 

  11. Provide assistance in sourcing office supplies, equipment. 

  12. Ensure office waste is well recycled. 

  13. Perform such other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

Education

  1. Bachelor degree from an accredited academic institution; or,
  2. High school diploma in the above fields with two years of relevant professional experience.

Experience 

Experience in providing building maintenance support.

Relevant professional experience with UN or other international organizations will be a distinct advantage.

SKILLS 

In depth knowledge of the broad range of building maintenance support related subject areas; and,

Knowledge of local rules and regulations on subject areas.

Languages

For this position, fluency in Ukrainian and working knowledge in English are required.
