Role Summary 

The Project Support Manager (PSM) is key to the efficient and effective running of the Darfur projects. This role manages Finance, HR, Logistics, Liaison and Administrative team members, activities and processes; coaching teams in Medair systems and ensures that support systems are properly set up.

Project Overview 

Medair’s programme in Sudan provides support to people affected by conflict, disease and disaster by providing basic services including health, nutrition and WASH.

El Geneina, West Darfur.  

Responsibilities:

• Management of finance systems, ensuring appropriate transaction processing, financial liquidity, budget adherence, transparent processes, and compliance with Medair and donor guidelines.

• Providing technical management to ensure that logistics procedures for procurement, supply chain, base, fleet and asset management are in place and being maintained in compliance with Medair standards.

• Management of HR activities, in accordance with Medair policies and Sudan labor laws. Line manage and develop support staff, overseeing recruitment, performance, and training to foster a cohesive, competent team.

• Coordinate with suppliers and authorities, representing Medair and building cooperative relationships that maintain a principled humanitarian position. Setting up the base.  

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies:  

  • University degree in Management, Finance, Business Administration or Development Studies
  • Strong working knowledge of English; French strongly desired (spoken and written)
  • Experience in a complex humanitarian context
  • Strong programme finance, logistics, human resources, analytical, and negotiations

Behavioural Skills  

  • Creative, open-minded, flexible, with a good understanding of cross-cultural issues
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels 
  • Committed to team-building and able to develop, coach and support other team members.
  • Problem solving ability and excellent communication skills.
