With findings that reflect a broad range of global experiences – from early career entrants to seasoned professionals with over 20 years in the field – the report offers an unprecedented look into the priorities of the global impact-driven workforce.
“Our mission has always been to empower impact-driven organizations to hire faster and smarter, to get critical talent into the places where they can make a difference,” said Magnus Bucht, CEO and Co-founder of Impactpool. “This report provides concrete data on what impact-sector professionals are looking for and serves as a strategic tool for talent leaders striving to create better candidate experiences.”
The report highlights that impact-driven employees place the highest value on purpose while maintaining high expectations around work-life balance, team culture, career growth, and diversity and inclusion when choosing an employer.
Revealingly, the report finds that the vast majority – 95% – of respondents would consider opportunities that require relocation on short notice: an optimistic indication for emergency response recruiters.
The report also exposes some mission-critical inefficiencies in recruitment processes across the sector. The data shows that almost two-thirds of respondents have decided not to complete a job application for an opportunity they’re interested in. Key factors driving that decision are lengthy, complex application processes, poor accessibility, feelings of discrimination, and technical challenges with legacy recruitment platforms.
Impactpool Pulse Report 2025 serves as a call-to-action for organizations to reassess and revamp their hiring strategies and tooling, to take advantage of this huge untapped talent pool.
The detailed survey data not only sheds light on candidate expectations but also offers practical recommendations for improving recruitment outcomes through simplifying application processes and enhancing communication strategies.
“Sourcing, attracting, engaging, and hiring the right talent into this world-changing space is an ongoing challenge”, Magnus continued. “But this report reveals that many of the obstacles to more efficient, effective recruitment are within organizations’ control. This is optimistic for hiring teams, shining a light on some positive strategies to hire and mobilize the right specialist talent faster.”
