Job Description
Responsibilities
1. Support the Head of Programme Support Unit with the development of concept notes et project proposals in line with IOM and donor requirements. This includes for example research, drafting and review of relevant documents necessary for the preparation of the proposal;
2. Review, consolidate, and analyze narrative reports on programme implementation, as well as quantitative and qualitative data on indicators, to facilitate the preparation of progress and final donor reports in coordination with the Head of Programme Support Unit and other relevant staff such as the Head of Programme and project managers;
3. Support the preparation of periodic and activity-specific reports for donors, the CO, RO(s), or HQ, as may be required.
4. Support the M&E Officer in the development, harmonization, proper use, and consistency of reporting tools and processes for Project Managers (PMs) and other relevant staff.
5. Support and assist in liaising with relevant authorities, United Nations agencies, non-governmental organizations, government counterparts, and other stakeholders for the purpose of project development and reporting/implementation.
6. Support the Head of Programme Support Unit in utilizing IOM’s internal systems for reporting and project development purposes in an efficient manner and with respect to internal and donor deadlines.
7. Prepare , document and monitor quotations, Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Request for Payment (RFPs); for the development of project activities related to PSU in accordance with IOM standards.
8. Support capacity-building and training activities particularly for government officials, local authorities, and civil society organizations involved in the migration field, as well as for IOM staff.
9. Keep accurate and pertinent records of all correspondence, project development and reporting files, and administration information, as needed.
10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
University degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, Communication, International Affairs or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with four years of relevant professional experience; or
• Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with six years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in reviewing and consolidating narrative and data reports to support project monitoring and donor reporting.
• Experience in drafting progress, final, and activity-specific reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and regional offices.
• Experience in developing and harmonizing reporting tools and ensuring consistency across project teams.
• Experience in drafting project proposals, concept notes, and donor communication materials.
• Familiarity with project management and reporting systems, including internal databases and platforms.
• Knowledge of procurement processes including preparing quotes, purchase requisitions, and payment requests.
• Experience supporting training and capacity-building activities in migration governance, targeting public officials and civil society actors.
• Strong organizational skills and experience maintaining accurate documentation and administrative records.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in dynamic, multicultural environments.
- For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Knowledge or Algerian Derja is desirable. Knowledge of French and Arabic will be considered an advantage.
