Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. ​​Support the implementation and monitoring of program and project activities related to social, economic, and sociocultural inclusion at the local and national levels, in line with the guidelines of the Department of Mobility and Inclusion Routes (DMI). 
  2. ​Contribute to the collection, systematization, and consolidation of information on activities and results, preparing inputs for periodic reports, progress updates, and presentations. 
  3. ​Provide operational support in organizing meetings, workshops, training, community dialogues, and activities with the private sector. 
  4. ​Maintain updated project files and documentation, ensuring the orderly registration of reports, contacts, and minutes.
  5. ​Draft simple correspondence, reports, presentations, and meeting minutes. 
  6. ​Participate in field visits and support the collection of on-site information, recording basic observations on activity implementation. 
  7. ​Provide support in the basic financial and budgetary monitoring of assigned activities, verifying fund availability and reporting any observations to the supervisor. 
  8. ​Maintain regular communication with local counterparts and community actors to support activity implementation.
  9. ​Contribute to activities related to private sector engagement in labor inclusion initiatives, fair employment, and regular migration pathways, when applicable. 
  10. ​Perform other technical and operational support functions as may be assigned within the framework of the Unit’s programs.​ 

Qualifications

Education
  • University degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations, Development, Migration, Human Rights, Administration, or related fields, with at least two (2) years of relevant professional experience; or 
  • High school diploma with at least four (4) years of relevant professional experience. 
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
 
Experience
  • ​​Previous experience in field operations, humanitarian programs, or projects related to migration, social, or labor inclusion. 
  • ​Experience in coordination with government actors, the private sector, civil society, United Nations agencies, or international organizations is an advantage. 
  • ​Experience in the collection, systematization, and basic analysis of project information. 
  • ​Experience in organizing workshops, training sessions, or community activities. 
  • ​Experience in projects with human rights, fair employment, or labor migration focus is desirable. 
  • ​Experience in IOM administrative and financial processes is desirable.​ 
Skills
  • ​​Strong computer skills, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, among others, with the ability to prepare reports, presentations, and consolidate project information. 
  • ​Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, institutional counterparts, and cooperation partners.  
  • ​Practical knowledge of administrative, financial, and logistical procedures applied in the management of projects and activities at headquarters. 
  • ​Experience in collecting, systematizing, and performing basic analysis of program information, ensuring data quality, organization, and reliability. 
  • ​Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in dynamic contexts. 
  • ​General understanding of IOM’s mandate on socioeconomic inclusion and labor migration, as well as UN system standards in project management. 
Languages
  • All candidates must be fluent in Spanish (both spoken and written). 
  • Working knowledge of English. 
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
